Here's how to add Academic Video Online/Alexander Street (AVON) or Films on Demand content to your course without ever leaving Canvas. It's pretty cool.

First, look for the "More External Tools" button in your Canvas editor (note: you have to be editing a page, discussion, etc. in order to see this). It looks like an electrical plug:
Click that plug button, bringing up the dropdown. Alexander Street Video (For some reason they don't use the AVON product name) and Films on Demand should show up in the list. Click on one of those of those resources.

A window will pop up with a search box for that resource. As you can see below, I chose Alexander Street and searched "psychology." Once you've found the right film, click the Embed Large or Embed Small button and the film will drop into your Canvas page.

If it all looks good, click Save and Publish to make this available to students. Otherwise, you can backspace to delete the video and then repeat this process.

The process for Films on Demand is quite similar. You may want to use the limiting dropdowns they provide, especially "Format: Titles and Segments." Choose "Titles," and the search results will only show full films instead of a bunch of short segments.
